Professionalism is often defined as one’s conduct in the workplace. It is the strict adherence to courtesy, honesty and responsibility. There was a time when professionalism was ascribed only to those in “professions,” requiring a high level of education (doctors, lawyers, engineers, executives, etc.)
It is important to know that the term “professionalism” is applicable to all employees because it also includes “relationships.”
Professionalism can be seen through the work ethic demonstrated in the workplace. So, professionalism and the work ethic must be built around a set of internal moral system of a code of ethics.
